The organizers of the 48th International Film Festival for Children and Youth in Zlín, which will be held between June 1 and June 8, 2008, have prepared several new features. On the occasion of the signing of contracts with festival partners, representatives of the world’s oldest and largest film festival of its kind have not only introduced the new visuals for the 2008 festival, but also the brand new Audience Award for the best live-action and animated films. The porcelain Golden Apple Award, designed by Daniel Piršč, is named identically with a new business and entertainment centre featuring a state-of-the-art multiplex, which is currently being built in the heart of Zlín. The multiplex will become the major venue of the 48th festival. Just like every year. all screenings and supporting events will be open to the public free of charge.
